Get More Control Over WhatsApp Calling and Access Call Data

We've made Calling more flexible and easier to work with across Periskope.

🔗 Access call history, recordings & transcripts through the API and MCP

You can now read your WhatsApp call history through the Periskope API and MCP.

New API endpoints

  • GET /v1/calls: List calls with the chat, direction, result, duration, recording link, transcription status and AI summary. You can filter by chat, direction, result, member, duration and time, or search transcripts and summaries.

  • GET /v1/calls/{call_id}: Get a single call with its full transcript, call timings, and per-member recordings.

Recording links follow your media privacy setting. When privacy is enabled, links expire after 1 hour.

The notifications endpoints now also return a recording download link on call rows. Existing fields are unchanged.

New MCP tools

  • periskope_list_calls: Browse and search call history

  • periskope_get_call: Read a call with its recording and transcript

Members who aren't admins only see calls on their own phones and in chats they can access.

📞 More control over WhatsApp Calling

  • Disable call recording for your organisation under Settings → Config.

  • Hide the call island from the Topbar → Notifications dropdown.

  • We've fixed bugs and improved call latency and quality.
