This week’s update introduces new AI capabilities, along with improvements across the console and mobile, to make your workflows faster and easier to manage.

✅ AI: Work Faster with Voice-Led Instructions

Speak to AI and go from idea to output in seconds.

Press and hold Cmd/Ctrl + D to dictate your instructions, no typing required.

It cleans up what you say, removes pauses and filler, understands the context, and turns it into clear instructions. With this, you can now:

Draft replies faster by speaking your thoughts
Translate responses on the fly into any language
Give complex instructions in one go without breaking them down

✅ Console: Smoother Workflows & UI Improvements

Bulk label uploads: Add and manage labels more efficiently in one go.

Faster media library: Browse and access media quicker with improved load times.

Cleaner analytics exports: Export data more easily with a simpler, more intuitive interface.

Mobile App: Reliability & Performance Update

Easier actions inside modals: Access options more smoothly across devices.

Mentions now create tasks reliably: Tag teammates in private notes and tasks will be created without issues.

Retry failed media instantly: Reload media directly within the chat if it doesn’t load the first time.

Faster, more stable experience: Reduced lag and improved reliability across the app.

Your Periskope AI Agent already handles customer conversations automatically. The Org Assistant takes it one step further.

You now have an AI assistant that knows your entire workspace. Your chats, tickets, tasks, labels, custom properties, knowledge base, everything.

Instead of clicking through screens to reassign tickets, update priorities, search for messages, or send private notes across multiple chats, you just tell it what you need. One instruction, done.

Simply access it by clicking the sparkle icon in the bottom right corner of your dashboard.
Then just tell it what you need.

Some things you can ask:

  • "Show all the unresolved tickets assigned to me"

  • "Assign all chats from today to A"

  • "Send a private note to all chats with the label 'follow up'"

  • "Extend B's trial" - it finds the org ID from custom properties and does it automatically

  • "Find all messages mentioning pricing from last week"

  • "Activate AI Agent on all open chats"

  • "Review my knowledge base for any incorrect or inconsistent information"

  • "Update the priority of all overdue tickets to high"

What used to take multiple clicks across different screens can now be done in seconds with a single instruction. ✅

Here’s how:

🧠 Make Your AI Smarter with Self-Learning

Your AI now reviews conversations automatically, identifies questions that aren't in your knowledge base, and fills the gaps without any manual effort.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

→ A customer asks, "Do you support refunds after 30 days?" Your knowledge base doesn't have that answer. Your team responds. Your AI detects the gap and adds it automatically so it can answer that question correctly next time.

The more conversations your team handles, the more accurate and consistent your AI gets.

It searches across FAQs, uploaded documents, and self-learned context simultaneously every time it responds, and works across languages too.

Want oversight before anything goes live? Turn on Self-Learned Context Requires Review in your Knowledge Base. Every new item goes into review mode until your team approves it.

Head to AI > Knowledge Base > Self-Learned to get started.

💬 Take Action from Any Conversation with AI Chat Assistant

Every chat now has a built-in AI Chat Assistant in the side panel. Instead of switching tools or scrolling through long threads, your team can handle everything directly from the conversation.

  • Ask the AI to summarize a long conversation and get full context instantly

  • Create a ticket from a specific message and assign it to a teammate

  • Drop private notes into the chat without the customer ever seeing them

  • Create tasks and track next steps without leaving the conversation

  • Update chat labels like marking a chat as "client" or "priority" instantly

The assistant has full access to your knowledge base and custom tools, so it can fetch answers and trigger actions directly from the chat.

The AI Agent can take actions across your business systems directly from WhatsApp conversations, like fetching order status, extending trials, updating CRM records, creating tickets, or triggering internal alerts.

And you stay fully in control of what your AI is allowed to do, with complete visibility into every action it takes.

Build Your Own AI-Powered Workflows with Custom Tools

Custom Tools lets you connect your Periskope AI to your own APIs, CRM, order management system, support database, or any external service.

For example:

  • A customer asks where their order is? Your AI fetches the live status and responds instantly

  • A frustrated customer messages in? Your AI sends a high-priority Slack alert to your team automatically

  • A trial extension is requested? Your AI processes it and confirms with the customer, end to end

  • A lead message comes in? Your AI pulls up their full CRM history, so your sales team has context before they respond

  • Set your AI to raise and route tickets automatically based on your predefined rules

  • Have your AI drop internal notes into conversations in real time without the customer ever seeing them

  • Let your AI learn from how your team responds and improve future responses automatically

📋 See Everything Your AI Did with AI Logs 

Your AI is making decisions, calling tools, and handling conversations on your behalf. AI Logs gives you full visibility into all of it, so you can trust what your AI is doing and catch anything that looks off before it affects a customer.

Head to AI > Logs to see:

  • Every tool call made, whether built-in or custom, with timestamps and success status

  • Exactly what your AI sent when calling each tool, the chat ID, org ID, priority level, and more

  • Which knowledge base items did your AI pull from, and how closely did they match

  • The complete conversation your AI was part of, from start to finish

It's Day 3 of Periskope Launch Week.

Setting up automation rules is now faster, clearer, and more intuitive. The entire experience has been rebuilt so your team can create, manage, and automate workflows without the complexity that held them back before.

🗂️ Guided Setup Flow 

Create rules in one clean, single-page layout. Trigger, Criteria, and Actions are laid out in a logical sequence, so you always know where you are and what comes next. 

Each section is clearly labelled, so there's no guessing what a field does or why something isn't working.

📋 Templates 

Browse a full library of pre-built templates across six categories so you don't have to start from scratch, such as - automated ticketing, automated replies, automated assignments, and more.

Pick a template, customise it, and publish in minutes.

⚡ Triggers 

16 triggers now organised into clear buckets: Message, Chat, Ticket, Reaction, Task, Call, and Member, each with a description so you know exactly what you're selecting. Search across triggers to find what you need fast.

🔍 Conditions 

Set conditions to control exactly when a rule fires. Create condition groups to combine multiple conditions and add a wait time before conditions are checked so your rule doesn't trigger the moment a message comes in.

📌 Cleaner Rule Cards 

Each rule card now shows the trigger, action, Live or Draft status, and last updated time at a glance. Search and filter to keep your automation library organised.

The Periskope console has been redesigned from the ground up. Cleaner UI, faster load times, and a smoother experience across the board. Here's what's new.

🌙 Dark Mode: Switch to a full dark theme across the entire console. Toggle instantly from the theme button at the bottom of the left sidebar, or go to Settings > Preferences.

⚡ Universal Search: Find anything across your entire Periskope workspace, chats, messages, tickets, and contacts, all from one place. Search is faster and more responsive than before, so your team spends less time looking and more time acting.

📋 Logs: Tracking activity and investigating issues in logs is now significantly easier. Filter across all log types, select specific time ranges, and combine multiple filters to zero in on exactly what you need.

👥 Contacts: Your team now has more control over how they manage and interact with contacts.

  • Add a new contact directly from the contacts screen

  • Mark any contact as Internal or External with a single click, or right-click any message in a chat to do it directly from the conversation

  • No active chat with a contact? Start one directly from the contact's side panel

  • Select and bulk delete multiple contacts at once

🔔 Notifications: Every team member can now decide exactly what they get notified about. Enable or disable individual notification types across your workspace so the right people hear about the right things.

We've been heads down building, and this one's a big release. The Periskope desktop has been significantly redesigned.
The UI is cleaner and more intuitive, the navigation is easier to follow, and with improved initial load times, the overall console is faster and smoother to use.

🌙 Dark Mode

You can now switch to a full dark theme across Periskope.
Toggle instantly:

  • Click the theme button at the bottom of the left sidebar

⚡ Universal Search

Find anything, instantly.
Universal Search lets you search for any keyword across chats, messages, tickets, and contacts, all from one place. We've also improved search performance, so results are faster and more responsive than before.

🤖 Automation Rules

Automation rules have a completely new interface. Creating rules is now more intuitive, with a cleaner single-page layout and larger, easier-to-read cards.

📋 Logs

The logs interface now has better search and filter capabilities. You can filter across all log types, select specific time ranges, and apply more combinations of filters. This makes it easier to investigate issues and track activity.

👥 Contacts

The contacts screen has been updated with a set of new features designed to give you better control over how you manage your network:

  • Add the Contact button to add a new contact directly from the screen

  • Internal / External toggle to classify a contact with a single click. You can also right-click on any incoming message to mark the number as Internal or External directly in the chat.

  • Bulk delete to select and remove multiple contacts at once.

🔔 Notifications

Notification settings now give you broader, more granular controls. You can enable or disable specific notifications across your workspace, giving you more flexibility over what you're alerted to and when.

  • We've launched a new Check Contact API that allows you to verify whether a phone number is registered on WhatsApp before sending a message.

  • This helps you avoid failed message attempts and ensure you're only reaching contacts who can actually receive your WhatsApp messages.

📊 Monitor Periskope's service health in real-time

  • A new Status API endpoint is now available to help you monitor the operational status of our services in real time.

  • You can now proactively check system health and identify issues with specific resources (such as APIs, webhooks, analytics, and Automation Rules) before they impact your workflows.

Create a ticket on a chat

  • Ticket creation is now available directly on chats, in addition to individual messages.

  • To create a ticket from a chat, simply double-click the chat to open the chat context menu, then select Create Ticket.

  • A ticket creation modal will appear, allowing you to enter the details and submit the ticket.

No due date filter on tickets

You can now filter tickets that don’t have a due date. This makes it easier to quickly find and manage tickets without assigned deadlines.

Scroll to ticket

A new button has been added to the bottom-left of the chat panel, allowing you to instantly scroll back to the ticketed message. This ensures you never lose track of the original context when viewing or navigating tickets.

Attachments

Each attachment can now have its own caption, allowing for clearer context and better organization of attached files.
