Support WhatsApp Reserved Username / Hidden Phone Number in Chat Members API

We currently use the Get Chat By ID API to retrieve members from WhatsApp group chats.

Currently, the API returns members like:

{ "chat_id": "120363430513743863@g.us", "members": { "123456789222@c.us": {} } }

With WhatsApp's new Reserved Username / Hide Phone Number functionality, we need to understand how Periskope will represent these users in the API.

Questions

• If a user's phone number is hidden, will the members key still be 123456789222@c.us?

• If not, what identifier will be returned?

• Will the Reserved Username be returned?

• Will there be a new unique user/contact ID?

• Will the members response structure change?

• Can you provide an example API response for a user with a hidden phone number?

For example, what should we expect instead of:

"members": { "123456789222@c.us": {} }

We need this information to ensure our integration can continue to uniquely identify WhatsApp group members when phone numbers are hidden.
