When we built Periskope on browser, we were inherently limited by the storage capabilities of the browser for local caching

As the local cache of messages and chats became bigger, this bloat led to slow operations, which resulted in high load times and a slow, frustrating experience in use

This is why we are very excited to launch the alpha of the native Periskope Desktop application

• Uses a native SQLite storage to make operations 1000x faster than the browser storage

• A more integrated native notifications experience

• Improved dock features and shortcuts (coming soon)

Early feedback is already indicating a remarkable improvement in latency for heavy operations (e.g. filters, message load, search)
